Our History

Chase Bright Steel Limited has spanned three generations of leadership under its Chairmen and Managing Directors - Shri Sohanlal Jajodia, Shri Sajjan Kumar Jajodia, Shri Alok Kumar Jajodia, and Shri Avinash Jajodia. Alongside them, some of the prominent figures in industry and politics who have served on the Board, contributing significantly to the company’s growth, governance, and global presence, include:

• Shri Ramaswamy Venkataraman : President of India (1987–1992), a distinguished lawyer, independence activist, and politician who contributed significantly to the country’s constitutional and political landscape.
• His Highness Maharaja Sir Jiwajirao Scindia of Gwalior : The last ruling Maharaja of Gwalior, remembered as a statesman who played a significant role in India’s transition to independence.
• Shri Ramakrishna Hegde : A distinguished Indian politician, Hegde served as the Chief Minister of Karnataka for three terms between 1983 and 1988, becoming the first non-Congress leader to hold the position. He also held significant roles at the national level, including Minister of Commerce and Industry in the Union Government from 1998 to 1999.
• Shri O. V. Kuruvilla : Former Commissioner of Income Tax, a distinguished officer known for his contributions to India’s tax administration and public service.
• Shri Kishan Kumar Khaitan : A senior partner at Khaitan & Co, one of India's oldest and most respected full-service law firms, contributing significantly to its growth and prominence in the legal industry.
• Shri Nand Gopal (N.G.) Khaitan : Senior Partner at Khaitan & Co., one of India’s oldest and most respected law firms, with over four decades of experience in dispute resolution, real estate, and corporate law, he also serves as President of the Indian Council of Arbitration
• Shri Ramniwas Ramnarain Ruia : A prominent business leader from the Ruia family, who served as Chairman across group companies including Phoenix Mills Ltd, held senior roles in institutions such as Bank of India and New India Assurance
• Shri Gordhandas J. Ruparel : Educationist and philanthropist, co-founder of Ruparel College in Mumbai under the Modern Education Society, noted for his generous support of academic institutions
